Hello, I'm

Cloud Engineer (CFO's Favorite Person), Site Reliability Engineer (Keeps the Pager Quiet), DevOps Engineer (Works on My Machine), Backend Developer (Lives on localhost:8000), IAM Engineer (Access Denied, Even Me)

7+ years keeping cloud infrastructure alive across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. SRE, IAM, and the automation that makes 3 AM uneventful.

Abdul Mohammed, Cloud Engineer

Cloud Engineer & SRE Specialist

I'm a Cloud Engineer, SRE, and IAM specialist with 7+ years keeping infrastructure alive across AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. Translation: I build the boring, bulletproof plumbing so your app doesn't fall over at 3 AM, and I'm the reason that one folder says "access denied."

I speak fluent Terraform, Kubernetes, and Okta, automate anything that dares to stay manual, and wire up Grafana, ELK, and Splunk so problems page me before they page you. AWS Solutions Architect, Azure, and Okta certified, in case you like receipts.

Selected work

A few things I built, why they were on fire, and what changed after.

  1. 01

    Enterprise healthcare · multi-account AWS + Azure

    • Terraform
    • AWS Org / SCPs
    • Azure Landing Zones
    • Okta SSO

Tamed 320+ cloud accounts before they tamed us

The mess: Account sprawl, snowflake setups, and a security team that found out about new environments after they shipped.

What I did: Stood up Terraform landing zones, guardrails (SCPs / Azure Policy), and Okta SSO so every new account is born compliant instead of getting bolted on later.

The result: Account onboarding went from a multi-week ticket queue to a same-day pull request, with drift caught before it reached prod.

  2. 02

Streaming / media · Kubernetes platform reliability

    • Kubernetes (EKS/GKE)
    • Grafana
    • ELK
    • Splunk
    • Prometheus

Made 3 AM pages boring again

The mess: On-call was a coin flip: noisy alerts, no SLOs, and dashboards nobody trusted at 3 AM.

What I did: Defined SLOs, rebuilt observability on Grafana, ELK, and Splunk, and wired alerts to symptoms instead of every twitchy metric.

The result: Pages dropped to the ones that actually matter, and mean-time-to-'oh, that's it' fell hard once the dashboards told the truth.

  3. 03

Telecom · identity & access at scale

    • Okta
    • SailPoint
    • IAM / RBAC
    • Python automation

Locked the right doors, and only the right doors

The mess: Joiner-mover-leaver was manual, access reviews ate entire Fridays, and 'temporary' access had a way of becoming permanent.

What I did: Automated provisioning with Okta and SailPoint, codified roles, and put access reviews on rails so least-privilege survived contact with reality.

The result: Reviews that used to burn a day now run themselves, and orphaned access stopped quietly piling up.

What I do

DevOps Engineer

I automate everything so I can pretend I'm not working. CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and deployments that ship on Friday afternoon and somehow still survive the weekend.

Cloud Engineer

Fluent in AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI, plus the ancient art of explaining the bill to the CFO. I architect scalable cloud setups that stay up at 3 AM so you don't have to.

Backend Developer

I live on localhost:8000 and speak fluent API. I build the unglamorous engine room: clean logic, solid databases, and endpoints that quietly do their job while the frontend takes all the credit.

IAM Engineer

The reason you can't access that folder (you're welcome). I wrangle identity and access with Okta and SailPoint, locking things down tight enough to lock myself out, occasionally on purpose.

Standup material

Three jokes I actually tell and one quote I actually mean.

Why was the security consultant so calm? They had a lot of 'secure' assets.

One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men. No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man.

Why do programmers prefer dark mode? Because light attracts bugs.
